President’s Message – 2012

The Mandal projects Gujarati Culture to Delhi. Since its inception more than forty years ago, Mandal registered on 18-11-63 under Societies Registration Act 1860 (Registration S 5072). It has grown in stature from a modest beginning through untiring efforts and dedicated service by office Bearers over the last four decades. I acknowledge my gratitude to all present and past office bearers in particular and Mandal members in general for their selfless service in enhancing the cultural aspirations of the Gujarati people of Delhi by their active involvement and participation in various activities.

The members of Mandal have been organizing festivals and Gujarat art and crafts, Gujarati food festivals, Ras Garba, Navratri dandiya, year get together etc. The Mandal also encourages literary, educational and sports activities among children of its members by providing annual scholarships and prizes. Society can witness Gujaratis’ national and international outlook in the participation of Delhites of all groups in our programs. We are grateful to our generous donors and volunteers for the success of our program, without which we could not have achieved the same.

Our Mandal Organized Dalyro Programme was performed by artists from Surendran Gujarat at India Habitat Centre on 11 June 2010. We are grateful to Shri R P Bhatt Umesh Seth, Shri Shreyak Jhaveri, & Shri Krishan Kant Oza for generous donations, without which we could not have organized this function.

Our Mandal also jointly participated in Sardar Patel Jayanti Celebrations, organized Gujarat Education Society. The Mandal organized Ashtami and Sharad Purnima programs on 15th & 22 Oct at Gulmohar Club – Gulmohar Park, which was attended mainly by members, their friends and members of the Club. In addition to this Naum Traditional Darshan, the program was organized at Holiday Club Panchsheel Enclave on 16 October 2010.

We are also particularly grateful to advertisers and donors, particularly Shri Kishore Das Gujarati and Mrs. Madhuben Oza. Mrs. Patel and the Academy of Animation & Games generously contributed to making our programs and Souvenirs a success. We will be failing our duty if we do not acknowledge particular thanks to Rahul Patel, Binduben Misr Sunidhiben Patel, Mrs. Rashmiben Nagar, Mrs. Darshana Kapasi, and Mrs. Sachinaben Patel Miss Kaksha Patel for Rangoli.

Nutan Varshaabhinandan was organized at Neeti Bagh Club on 7 November 2010. We are incredibly grateful to our Hosts, Smt Veenaben Shroff, Mrs. Ushaben Parekh & Shri P.H Patel, for extending their co-operation.
