The Mandal projects Gujarati culture to Delhi. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, the Mandal was registered on 18-11-63 under the Societies Registration Act 186 (Registration No. S 5072). It has grown in stature from a modest beginning through untiring efforts and dedicated service by office-bearers over the last three decades.
I acknowledge my gratitude to all present and past office-bearers in particular, and members of the Mandal in general, for their selfless service in enhancing the cultural aspirations of Gujarati people in Delhi through active involvement and participation in various activities.
The members of the Mandal have been organizing festivals celebrating Gujarati art and crafts, Gujarati food festivals, Ras garba, Navratri dandiya, New Year get-togethers, and more. The Mandal also encourages literary, educational, and sports activities among children of its members by providing annual scholarships and prizes.
The national and international outlook of Gujaratis is evident in the participation of Delhites from all ethnic groups in our programmes. We are grateful to our generous donors and volunteers for the success of our programmes; without their support we could not have achieved so much.
We are grateful to our generous donors and volunteers for the success of our programme; without them we could not have achieved the same.
Our Mandal also jointly participated in Sardar Patel Jayanti celebrations organized by the Gujarat Education Society. Weekend Dandiya, Ashtami and Sharad Purnima programmes were held at Gulmohar Club on 1st Oct, 4th Oct and 7th Oct 2011 at Gulmohar Park, which were largely attended by members, their friends and club members — we are deeply grateful for Gulmohar Club’s active participation.
We are particularly grateful to advertisers and donors, especially Shri Kishorebhai Gujarati, who have generously contributed to make our programmes and souvenir a success. Special thanks to Rahul Patel, Binduben Misra, Sunidhben Patel, Mrs. Rashmiben Nagar, Mr. Bhavna Lad, Darshana Kapasi and Sachinaben Patel for their support with the Rangoli. Nutan Varsha-abhinandan was organised at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya on 27th Oct. We hope our esteemed donors will continue to extend their co-operation so we can keep serving the worthy cause of fulfilling the cultural aspirations of Gujaratis in Delhi.
